Common questions
Do I need an account?
No. Due date, answers and plan stay on your iPhone. There is no server they are stored on, and we never see them.
How do we get our plan onto a second phone?
Under More › Plan on the second phone: as a file via AirDrop, Messages or email, or as a QR code. On the second iPhone, open the same page in Storchplan and tap “Import a plan”. Sending is part of Storchplan Plus, importing is free.
How do I move everything to a new iPhone?
Under More › Backup as file, tap “Create backup” and save the file in Files, in iCloud Drive or by email. On the new iPhone, open the same page and tap “Restore backup”. The backup is free.
Why are no reminders coming?
Turn them on under Deadlines › Reminders on your phone and allow notifications when your iPhone asks. If you tapped “Don’t Allow” there, change it in the iPhone settings under Notifications › Storchplan. The reminder for the application deadline is free, all others are part of Storchplan Plus.
Are the deadlines right if the baby comes early or late?
After the birth, enter the actual date of birth under More › Enter date of birth. The app then recalculates months of life, maternity leave and every deadline, including the reminders.
What is free, and what does Storchplan Plus add?
Free: all calculators, one full plan with every rule, deadlines, calendar file, documents, backup and the reminder for the application deadline. Storchplan Plus adds up to 3 plans to compare, all reminders, the companion after the birth, the PDF “Our plan”, sharing to a second phone and the second child. A one-time purchase, no subscription, with Family Sharing. In Germany it costs €14.99; the app shows you the price before you buy.
I bought Storchplan Plus, but the app does not show it.
Under More › Storchplan Plus, tap “Restore purchase”. Your iPhone has to be signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase.
Does the purchase work for my partner too?
Yes, through Apple’s Family Sharing. If it is set up for your Apple IDs, the second person taps “Restore purchase” under More › Storchplan Plus.
Is anything ever locked?
No. Nothing you have created is ever locked. If Family Sharing ends, plans, reminders you turned on and the companion stay usable; only new Plus features need the purchase again.
How do I delete my data?
Under More › Delete everything. Language, design and a purchase stay. Or delete the app, then everything is gone. A purchase stays with Apple and can be restored.
Does the app calculate Elterngeld exactly?
It estimates under the rules of the BEEG, with the law section for every number. What counts is the decision (Bescheid) of your Elterngeldstelle. The Elterngeldstelle gives advice free of charge.
Is Storchplan available for Android?
Not yet. The calculators on this website work on every phone and computer.
