Partnership bonus calculator
If you both work part-time at the same time, you get up to 4 extra months of ElterngeldPlus. Check whether your hours fit.
The rules
You both work 24 to 32 hours a week at the same time, on average over the month of life, for 2 to 4 months in a row. Each bonus month is a Plus month with your part-time income.
The reform
The reform draft for births from November 2027 would remove the bonus. It has not been passed. For all other births the rule applies as described here.
Common questions
How much does the partnership bonus pay?
Each bonus month is a Plus month. The amount depends on your net income before and your part-time net income. The calculator shows it based on your numbers.
What if we do not keep to the hours?
If one of you works more than 32 or less than 24 hours in a bonus month, the Elterngeldstelle can ask for that month back.
Can single parents get the bonus?
Yes, single parents can take the bonus on their own if they work 24 to 32 hours.
